*********** - Vehicle Damage Mandeni

The BP garage in Mandini filled my parent's car twice with petrol instead of diesel. (There is a diesel sign on the cap). First time, my parents were lucky enough to pick it up after driving off and emptied the diesel tank at home. The second time (late July) the car broke down with my mom and a diesel mechanic was called to drain the petrol. The garage acknowledged it was their fault. The car is not used all the time, and therefore the damage caused was only noticed about 3 weeks after when the car looked like it was about to explode on the local road. The petrol ate away at the diesel pump seal and the diesel mixed with the oil. Needless to say - damage is approx +- R50 000 (it is a BMW X3 and the engin blew), the garage does have insurance yet refuse to assist. My parents are pensioners and this had a severe impact on them. The garage is aware of that fact, yet silence from them is the only answer. Bp South Africa only liaise with the different branches and can't assist to rectify situations like this.

Good day,

My complaint was acknowledged on the 18th of October (as per your response), however we are in December now and we did not receive the revert as per your response. Is this another example of your service? I am deeply troubled by the lack of action from BP's side. "Beyond Petroleum"? - I think not.. since the important issue of customer service and assistance seems to be non-existent.

Question: is this lack of assistance because it was done to pensioners with no other recourse? Or is this how the company operates as a rule?

Regards.
