Heartwarming experience
I went to BP in Northern Paarl, Western Cape in the wee hours of 8 September 2021. I was assisted by André, an Afrikaans gentleman who was extremely polite, friendly and professional. His mask was perfectly fitted, not hanging on his chin.
I believe in tipping the person who assists me at the petrol station, but did not have any cash on me and asked André if I could add his tip to my credit card when I pay for my fuel. He said, unfortunately not and I told him that I had no cash on me for a tip. He said it was no problem whatsoever. He filled up my car, and carefully washed all the bird pooh from my front and back window. Then he apologised for not being able to swipe my PnP card as a software update was in progress on the system.
After he was done, he asked if I just wanted to swipe my card instead of inserting it, thanked me for my business and said that I should come and visit them again since I was out of town.
What an awesome experience! I would like to thank him for the excellent service that he provided. I would definitely make the effort of going there again when I am in the area.
Thank you, André! It was a pleasure doing business with you.
To management, please add teh functionality to you machines to make provision for tips to be added with payment as very few people carry cash with them theses days. It is teh right thing to do and will motivate your personnel as well.
