Faulty Petrol Pump - Forced to pay for wasted Petrol

I went to top up my ar with Unleaded 93 petrol at the BP Service station at 564 Church Street Pretoria West. The petrol attendant started filling my tanl and then requested if he could clean my windows etc. I agreed and he put the automatic switch on the petrol pump. I asked him if it was working and he said yes it works. However to both our surprise the swicth did not work and petrol starting overflowing from my tank when it was full. I was upset and he was very scared as I informed him that I will be deducting about R100 from the total bill. I asked him for the managers number and he called his supervisor. The supervisor accepted that I could deduct the R100. I then enquired for the owners number. He was afraid to give me the number as he said that if the pump was not working then he should have told the owner. He will then further have to pay for the deduction that I requested and will be reprimanded for not reporting the faulty pump. On further enquiry the pump worked for the customer before me so there was no way for the supervisor to know that the pump will stop working when I pulled up. I think that this type of problem lies with the Owner and BP South Africa to refund the customer and not for the Petrol Attendant to pay from his pocket. I did not deduct any money and paid the full price and informed the Petrol Attendant that they are providing excellent service but their owner and BP South Africa service and treatment of their employees and customers is pathetic. The supervisor is August and the attendant who assisted me is Donald. I expect the owner and BP South Africa to recognise the two employees and provide a refund from their profist to me for the wasted petrol that was caused by their faulty equipment.
