BP Katlehong Administrative Negligence: Denied Access to Provident Fund and Labour Rights
I am writing to raise a serious grievance regarding my ******** and unfair treatment as a former employee of BP Katlehong Service Station.
In May 2025, I was verbally dismissed by my supervisor without any written notice, termination letter, or due process. Despite this dismissal, I remain listed as an “active employee” on the system and not even getting paid. This administrative negligence has left me in an impossible position:
I cannot access my provident fund through MIBCO their fund managers because I am still listed as actively employed.
I cannot claim UIF or escalate to the CCMA because my employment status has not been officially updated.
My repeated attempts to address this with my supervisor have been ignored.
When I escalated to the Katlehong franchise owner, I was promised action, but no feedback has been received.
I even wrote to BP Southern Africa (***) but have not received any response.
This situation has left me stranded, financially distressed, and without the ability to exercise my labour rights. It reflects extremely poorly on BP’s duty of care towards employees. I urgently request that my employment status be corrected on the system, that I receive the necessary documentation of my dismissal, and that I be assisted in accessing my rightful benefits without further delay
