Appalling service from BP Gonubie and Eastern Cape BP

On the 23rd of February 2017, my husband filled up our car with, what we thought was diesel, at the BP petrol station in Gonubie, East London.

On Friday morning the car would not start. (We only have this one car (Peugeot 206 2.0HDI) and we need to get our 2 children to school, drop me off at my place of employment and my husband needed to get to his work; which was +/-30 kms away - through town). After changing batteries and all attempts to get the vehicle going, we contacted a mechanic.

To our utter horror, the mechanic told us that there was WATER pumping through the engine and NOT diesel. The mechanic drained some of the water for my husband to take to BP Gonubie.

My husband took the sample of “water”, with our slip and contact details to Trevor, the Manager of the BP Petrol Station in Gonubie, who was unreachable by phone and was not at the BP Petrol Station in Gonubie when my husband went there. To date we have had absolutely no contact or response from Trevor.

I eventually contacted the Area Manager of BP, Arnold Panya, ********** who, as per e-mails, requested my invoices to refund me all the monies we have spent trying to fix our car and the hiring of a vehicle.

Our mechanic eventually gave up and told us that he was unable to get our car fixed and that we need to take the car to the dealer. I spoke to Arnold Panya who confirmed that we could do so. I requested the consent in writing and have yet to receive it. The dealer will not accept to repair our vehicle without written consent from BP that they will pay for the repairs and my husband and I are unable to accept that payment responsibility.

I have since been told by Arnold that the dealer – Trevor – needs to pay me and BP will refund him. (Trevor is still not taking our calls, all returning them) Then Arnold told me to calm down and that he is waiting for his manager and then; he is waiting for cost codes and then his manager again and now he is waiting for the Customer Care.

It has been 104 days since BP put WATER in our cars diesel tank and BP are no closer to sorting this out than at day one. It the meantime we are hiring a car and the mechanic is now charging us storage. My husband and I are paying all of this ourselves and really; who budgets for something like this in our present economy???!!!!!

CAN ANYBODY SUGGEST WHAT WE SHOULD DO? PLEASE!

WE ARE BEYOND DESPERATE!!!!!
