Hunting Bouwersfontein Game Farm Graaff Reinet, Scholtz Hunting Safaris

Our group of 10 people booked and paid a R 10k deposit in November 2018 for a 3 night stay and hunt in May 2019. We found the farm/hunt adverti*****t on Facebook (it has since been removed). They also have a website which still exists but you cannot leave reviews on the website.

The adverti*****t was misleading in the following ways.

1. The adverti*****t doesn't mention that the prices are excluding VAT. However the invoice we received the night before we left had an extra 15% added to the total bill, which for our group was more than R 8k. We where forced to pay.

2. We where only allowed to hunt 3 of the 7 species advertised as available.

3. When we arrived we where informed that we could not shoot which ever springbok we wanted. We had to shoot a big male, a female and then a young male. And then repeat this sequence if we wanted to shoot more. This was a term and condition not mentioned before to us and definitely not on the adverti*****t. If we did not follow the rules we would be charged a penalty of R 1 500 for the incorrect animal. We where forced to sign a document stating this or we could not start hunting.

We have screenshots of the adverti*****t and all correspondence between us and the owners on record. The owners where not present on the premises once during our stay. These people ****med us and thier attitude stinks.

I must add that the accommodation was clean and of a good standard. The actual hunt was well coordinated and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay otherwise.
