Damaged goods No assistance in repair

With the excitement of a little one on the way we went to Toys r us Canal Walk and spend almost R8000. We bought an electric cradle chair, a Bounce pram with car seat, car seat base ect. This was in Oct 2016 cause we want everything ready for the new baby due. March 2017 our baby was born and we started using the newly bought baby equipment. On the 30th of July 2017 we struggled to release the car seat from the pram as well as the car seat base after investigating we found the car seat broke. There is a small piece of plastic that moves a clip to release the seat tyat broke in 2. So poorly made. We went back to Toys r Us Canal Walk to get this resolved as we only been using it for 4months and I'm sure it's made to last/work longer than that. The manager tells us we have to leave the product and they will send it away and we need to pay for the repairs as it is out of the warranty, the warranty is only for 6months. I asked the manager how long it will take and what's the customer (me) suppose to do in the meantime and his response was +-2 weeks and he don't know. So basically it's the customers problem and I must struggle in the meantime. This is a safety product for my baby I can't drive without a car seat. How can the warranty by from date of purchase??? So they want to say indirectly the customer must go the day before birth to the shop and buy all they need because of the warranty policy. Ridiculous!!!!!! And then no customer service once they have your money they don't care.

Maybe Bounce can assist in this matter. I mean my child is 4 months old. I can give the birth certificate as proof.
