Incorrect Diagnosis
Incorrect diagnosis!!
The Nissan NP200 was starting fine but kept switching off at random times while driving. Upon trying to find the fault, we thought it will be best to take the vehicle for a diagnostic test instead of letting my mechanic investigate to find the fault. Initially I asked for a diagnostic test to be done but I was advised to do the fuel pressure test based on the symptoms. I requested for the block leakage test to also be included. I was told that the vehicle past the fuel pressure & block leakage tests but need to change the fuel pump. I didn't receive reports of the actual tests do I am not sure if it was really done. I questioned the agent twice asking if it is definitely the fuel pump as the fuel pressure test past. Caylen confirmed it must be the fuel pump. After spending R1600 to replace the pump & R500 labour, the problem still persisted. I went back to Caylen. They tried to do the diagnostic test but the mechanic said the diagnostic kit can't connect to the computer box & that the auto electrician must check it. How can that be when the vehicle was drivable? I asked the mechanic/technician to speak to Caylen & get back to me as to when I can take the bakkie back but I never receive a call.
I decided to call Bosch Customer service but couldn't find the right number so I called Bosch Little Falls. The number I got reaches someone's voicemail all the time. That person from Bosch Little Falls informed Andre at Bosch Hillfox that I was trying to get a hold of customer service. I spoke to Andrew who asked me to take the vehicle back so that the auto electrician etc can check it. My husband said he is afraid that they will do something wrong so instead I asked for the money for the fuel pressure test/inspection to be refunded. On Friday, 5th September, Andrew advised that he will speak to his manager & get back to me but didn't. I called him yesterday & he said they will give me a discount if I have another service request but no refund.
We will not be going back to any Bosch Service Centre. I spoke to staff at a Tyre place & they warned me not to go to such service centre as the diagnostics are wrong most of the time!!
What's the point of doing vehicle tests & the diagnostic is wrong? We spent money that we loaned to replace the fuel pump which wasn't the issue. So there's no accountability from Bosch Hillfox & neither can I get a hold of someone at customer service to lodge a complaint!!!
