Boox E-reader only last 2 years and 1 month.

To all the e-readers out there,

I was a firm believer that as CDs went to MP3s, books willgo to e-readers in the near future.

I bought my first Boox Max Carta E-reader in 2018. It Was roundabout ZAR9000, It was so extremely expensive but I was certain that thisis the way.

I would load my study work on the e-reader for examsalthough we still used books and made notes when I was studying.

Currently, I am in my Chemical Engineering exams, myuniversity is shifting their views going towards “The 4th IndustrialRevolution” and thus our books became e-books. This was ideal for the e-reader,I mean, it was what I saw for the near future….

But I was so wrong…. On the day I wrote my engineering maths, that evening, I noticed that the screen shows that it needs a recharge. I havenever seen this page before as I mostly kept it above 50%.

I tried to recharge the e-reader, but no charging light cameon. It turned my life upside down...

I lost my notes, I have to print copies now.

The reality is, companies are pushing for all of us to usetheir products “the new way for books”, and they have a strong viewpoint… Buthow can someone spend so much money on a product, look after it, and lost it inwithin 2 years and 1 month… Where is the investment potential if the companiesgive such poor products that it can’t even outlast a heat printed receipt? “Food for Thought.”
