ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED AND ********** BY BOOKINGS.COM AS WELL AS MOM & ILBE INN!!!!! DISGRACEFUL

so we booked a one night stay at Mom & Ilbe in Port Edward. We booked a one bedroom, we arrive, after searching for the keys, we enter the unit and it is a very poorly looked after/maintained bachelor flat with 2 beds squashed in it. we are a family of 3, not really ideal so we call the owner the moment we arrive and advise her this is not what we booked, there is no view whatsoever and her add states there is. the furniture is old, falling apart, not the cleanest, the beds were far from hospitality standard, we did not feel this has any value for money and we did not feel safe with the passage light not working. so after calling the owner we were told there is nothing that can be done. we then left the property ( as this was clearly false advertising) it was now by 7pm at night so we couldn't rebook anywhere else and we had to drive home again, 2 hrs drive and another set of toll fees again. I notified the owner that we had left. the next day we notice the money was taken from our account, taken for nothing. we never stayed over and we are entitled to a refund. owner tells us there is no way she will refund us as she had to "remove the add" for us to stay the night. this is unacceptable poor business practice .A second and 3rd request was sent to the owner for the refund , but requests ignored. we then approached Bookings.com as they affiliate the bookings, payments. etc. we were told there is no refund as there is a company policy placed by the owner of Mom & Ilbe. now correct me if I am wrong, this was false advertising to start with, not worth the money, not maintained , we never stayed there , yet we need to pay? and bookings.com as well as Mom & Ilbe has now ****** money from us!!!!! beware everyone, think twice before using the establishments Bookings.com- there is nothing noted under conditions that you will pay for the stay no matter what, even if false advertising was done by the institution and allowed by Bookings.com? You pay either way so they still benefit??????!!!!!

just notes: Add says fireplace - there is none, it's an old braai put outside swimming pool is right at the top of the complex, the unit is right at the bottom hidden behind sugarcane Kitchen not fully equipped and the oven door falls out when you open the oven. the cupboards have severe wear & tear, falling apart Pleather couch is so old and crumbling, they cover it with old unwashed unsightly blankets Furniture is everything but modern! Only Breathtaking ocean you will see is the water running into the old worn bath no balcony no sanitizer as on the add towels were soo sooo sooo rough and old, definitely wouldn't have used them no additional toilet no satellite channels, you need to take your own ! an old wonky table and 2 chairs aren't classified as outdoor furniture most definitely not a good location !!!!
