I got married this Saturday passed (WHOOHOO!!) and had a brides**** come from out of town so I went to Booking.com, as one does and booked accommodation for Friday evening (the 18th October).
After plenty things going pear shaped the day before the wedding and going into Plan-B mode with most things, I finally call the Boston 10 where I booked to stay with my Brides****s to say sorry I'm running late, I am on my way! The lady on the other end goes "What?" I continue to explain I'm checking in this evening, my name is so and so and I'be booked and paid and have the confirmation number and everything. She goes on to say there's no way i'm staying there tonight, she doesnt have any booking, never heard or seen my name before and besides, she has guests in the place. Also not being very nice, it's not her mess but some courteousness would've been welcomed.
So I hang up the phone and stare in disbelief. Its 9pm, the night before my big day and I have no where to stay.
I try and call booking.com, get an answering machine also may I mention how difficult it is to actually find a contact number.
I still dont know what happened...I called them on Monday, and chatted to a lady for a bit and explained that I've booked and paid and didnt get to stay at the place. Also how the hell did I get a booking confirmation without the guesthouse confirming it? And I was getting reminders and all the goodies up until the Friday afternoon about my booking.
She says they will arrange a refund but ***** the refund. THE NIGHT BEFORE MY WEDDING!!! Yes sure, they didnt know that, although I did send it as a message to the host to explain why we're staying there, but now that apparently went to Peter Pan land bc no one has any idea where the booking went.
Anyway, I'm just upset that I didnt even get an apology or an explanation as to what happened.
I've booked with Booking.com a few times in the past, but not to easily again.
