We were ****med

On the 27th of September 2024 my partner and I booked a place via Booking.com called Somerset Hall in Sandton, 239 Oxford Road Sandton. We booked the place and I revived a text from the host advising that we should send money to their business account, we did that. I then called the host when we arrived that we are outside, the host then sent a text back to saying “you have been hacked, there is no property”. We were left stranded on the side of the road, I contacted Booking.com multiple times with no help, tried the host again but they blocked me. Booking.com doesn’t do proper vetting on the properties they have on their website, this is honestly uncalled for. We were ****med and booking.com is not doing anything about it. I’ve been contacting them since Friday the 27th today is the 3rd of October and still no help.
