Useless booking.com

Booking.com is a joke! I made a flight booking for my wife and I to Ireland. I mistakenly put her (new) surname on the booking instead of her ****en surname (as stated on her passport). Booking told me I have to cancel the flight (with no refund) and rebook because of Virgin Atlantic’s policy. I checked with Virgin Atlantic and they said that Booking didn’t even inquire about my flight. Virgin told me they have no problem changing the name on the booking but it has to be authorised by Booking by phoning their (Virgin’s) Sales Support Line. Customers aren’t authorised to phone the Sales Support Line. Virgin reckons it’s Booking’s incompetence that lead to this. They (Booking) never even made the effort to contact the airline and just used the airline’s policy as an excuse not to make the effort to change the name on the booking. They are useless! The support team that contacted me were if no support at all! Absolutely useless!!! I will never book with them again. The support team member who phoned me hung up on me because he couldn’t assist.
