Unprofessional Service - STAY AWAY!
From seeing everyone else's reviews on Hello Peter, it's evident that Booking.com is unprofessional. I would like to add my 2c as well from my recent experience... I made a booking via Booking.com for accommodation in Port Elizabeth. Due to circumstances out of my control, I had to ask the venue if I could possibly move the dates to the following weekend. They agreed, but said that I needed to confirm if the date should be moved as soon as possible. Within an hour I again responded via Booking.com messaging facility to the venue and confirm the date change. However, Booking.com did not forward the message and I ended up paying 50% of my stay for "No Show". I did request a date move, but Booking.com was not communicating with the venue to make the change. I queried the fee with Booking.com, but I was given short meaningless answers which basically boil down to me having to contact the venue directly and sort out myself. I even sent screenshots from my PC as evidence, clearly showing the messages I sent in requesting the date change. Now I, the customer have to fight the venue to get my penalty fee back and Booking.com is just pulling up their shoulders. They are unprofessional and do not care getting involved solving issues between themselves and THEIR vendors. I don’t have the relationship with the venues, they have, so why should I get involve in disputes between them if they made the mistake? It’s their website, their messaging tools. I am closing my account with Booking.com, I suggest you do the same!
