Unnecessary delays in refunding clients

I booked an accommodation via booking.com in March 2024. I decided to cancel the booking within the free cancelation period to avoid inquiring charges. 1 month later, I'm still waiting for booking.com to refund me instead they busy sending me from pillar to post. I give booking.com a call to follow up on the refund and I'm being told to wait 30 more days for the refund to be processed.
