UNACCEPTABLY stuck WITHOUT accommodation

I booked accommodation at Blue Tides accommodation in Cape Town. When we arrived at Blue Tides and phoned the number of the host provided we were told that this accommodation was not available as the apartment was sold a year ago. Booking.com was unresponsive and so we were stuck without accommodation and had to make the journey back to our home town. This is unacceptable and still no helpful response from booking.com.
