Tiny Huts Campsite on Booking.com Is this a ****? A *******! The adverti*****t of “Tiny Huts campsite, Tulbagh” on booking.com is very misleading. There are no photos to show what the place looks like from the outside. I booked accommodation at Tiny Huts Campsite Tulbagh but was utterly shocked when we arrived there. (We got lost because there were no signs or name boards). This place looked like a ***** dump site: it is not at all what is advertised on booking.com. I had a look at the “Tiny Hut” which was advertised as a double bedroom we booked and were SHOCKED. The 7 square meter hut has a double bed in it with almost no space to move around the bed. When you open the door, it bumps against the bed so you must squeeze in and close the door behind you. Not even space for your luggage. Because we are pensioners, we took one look at the wooden “stairs” that leads up to the hut and realized that it will not be safe for us. The so called “hot tub” is a sink bath outside the hut and the “private bathroom” (which was underneath the hut) looked unsafe and shabby. THERE WAS NO WATER ON THE PREMISES. The man who “welcomed” us seems to know nothing. He said that he is waiting for the plumber to come and fix the problem. We tried to get hold of the owner without any success. A WhatsApp number connected to a computer. UK number. What I cannot understand is that, although most of the reviews are (understandably!) negative- rating 1 (I checked the reviews of other people when we left there), there are a few people that rates this place a 10! I just cannot believe it is true! Is someone trying to manipulate the ratings? We felt very uncomfortable and left the site immediately and had to book at a guest house in Tulbagh. I spend quite a time to contact booking.com and after talking to a robot eventually got through to someone. In the end we did not get a refund. It was an expensive weekend for us, and we really want to warn people to NOT step in the trap that we did. This place is a DISGRACE! Think twice before making a booking through this company.
