THEY ARE *******
In July 2020, my reservation in a particular hotel in UK was cancelled by the hotel due to the CoViD-19 pandemic. Booking.com promised to give me a refund, however, they found a legal way to ***** my money.
According to them, they cannot give me a repayment if I cannot provide a proof of transaction where the GBP and my local currency is indicated. I gave them a copy of my credit card statement and booking confirmation where the converted amount was shown, but those ARE NOT enough for them. What they need was the converted amount and my local currency (IN WORDS). The currency symbol is not accepted. What kind of preposterous reason was that?? Even my words ARE NOT suffice!
They said that they need both the converted amount and the local currency in words, in order that I can be refunded in the exact amount in my local currency, since conversion rates change everyday. Sounds fair, right?? WRONG! I told them that I don't mind if I got a lower converted amount so long as I can have my repayment. Guess what? They still do not want to pay me back. If this is not called legal *******, I do not know what it is called.
