There accommodation are does not exist

I have made reservations for my dad with booking.com today my dad was stranded in cape Town because the property doesn't exist, when I call them they assured me that they will get him another accommodation only to refund me knowing very well that the refund will reflect over night, when I ask they say "unfortunately there is nothing they can do, they had to refund. Imagine an older person who traveled the whole now he have to look for another accommodation. I trusted booking.com to verify their place before we book. I will never use them again 😡😡😡
