The fields in the Search Engine are incorrect and accommodation was confirmed yet no accommodation available.

My Partner and I use Booking.com regularly.

On the 24th Dec, my partner and I searched for one room for two adults for that night in Howick. Search engine gave us a deal for R460.00. We struggled to book online; called the accommodation i.e. Nutmeg Guesthouse to find out if the rooms are available, and went directly to the accommodation. This was a stop off before Durban.

On arriving at Nutmeg, the guest house charged us R880.00. On questioning this, the owners informed us that it is an issue with Booking.com and not them. (Pieter I think his name was) It is false advertising as the search engine asks you how many adults however directs you to other. Its not proper and clear. The stay was lovely however we were charged literally double.

On return from Durban, we decided to stop at Van Reenens Pass for one night. This was on the 27th Dec 2017. Using Booking.com again as once again we use it regularly (my partner even has the app) we found that The Pyramid Motel had accommodation for one night for two adults in a Luxury mountain facing room for R700.00. We booked it and it was confirmed. 30 minutes away from the Pyramid, Andre that works for the motel called us to inform us that the Motel was overbooked. We were in shock and surprised and very upset as Van Reenens Pass does not have many accommodation options and we were too exhausted to travel to Harrismith, Ladysmith or back to Gauteng. Andre did try his best to give us other options. We did have to drive around Van Reenens for suitable accommodation as most of the places were fully booked, didn't have the convenience of a television or was too tiny. This was a huge inconvenience caused by Booking.com. Not only was it a waist of petrol, causing distress and inconvenience. This too was false advertising.

Everyone be very very cautious when using Booking.com. Rather find the name of accommodation via the app or site and call the accommodation directly instead of booking via Booking.com.
