STAY AWAY FROM BOOKING.COM

I will not recommend booking.com to anyone.

On the 14th of June 2025 I made a booking on booking.com at The Whitehouse in Oudtshoorn. I made a payment of R625.50 for the property. In the pictures you could see a beautiful big room with a balcony, and it also has a private bathroom with a bath and a shower. I made a payment for this property and expected to get exactly this when I arrived there.

However when we arrived at this property the host took us to our room which did not look the same at all. The bath and also the toilet was inside of the room, there was NO private bathroom and NO shower. There was NO balcony. This room looked NOTHING like the room that I paid R625.50 for.

I felt ****med and cancelled immediately. At this stage I was too scared to make another booking and I was forced to drive back home at night which I did not want to do in the first place.

I trusted booking.com to get what I paid for. I do not know Oudtshoorn and for that reason I booked through booking.com. I feel ****med, cheated and **** to.

I emailed booking.com on the 25th of June 2025 since I have not received my refund. After no response I emailed them again on the 29th of June 2025 As of today, I have not received my refund and NO response from them whatsoever. I requested a full refund as I was **** to and was not about the get what I paid for.

It saddens me to say that I will not make use of booking.com ever again and I will not recommend it to anyone.

Be cautious people. You might not get what you paid for
