I made a reservation on Booking.com on 17 March 2019 for Skyline View CB Platinum Penthouses next to London Eye 110 Gaunt Street, Southwark, London, SE1 6FN, United Kingdom to stay from 11-14 June 2019. The full amount was paid on 19 March 2019.
On 7 June 2019 I received a message from Booking.com that my card was declined and I needed to update my credit card details. I updated the details and also called them to verify that everything was ok and that they would not cancel my booking. I was assured by the operator that everything was fine.
On arrival in London on 11 June, I received a message from Booking.com that my reservation was cancelled. This reservation was cancelled because of an invalid credit card.
This is the message: Dear Marisa Van Loggerenberg,
We can confirm that your reservation at Skyline View CB Platinum Penthouses next to London Eye has been cancelled. You don’t need to take further action, but if you have any queries for the property, their contact details are: +***43.
After numerous calls between Skyline View Platinum and Booking.com my husband and I and our 3 boys were left without a place to stay, they couldn't even offer us other accommodation, they had our full payment which they said would be refunded 2 weeks later.
I have sent messages asking for an explanation and have had no feedback.
I will never again use booking.com.
