Regrettable experience Coral Point, Umdloti, Durban

I recently stayed at Coral Point, Umdloti, Durban and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. From the moment I arrived, I encountered several issues that made my stay uncomfortable and disappointing. The stay was for 2 night 31st December till 2nd January 2025. It was a 2 bedroom apartment with a sleeper couch, i initially booked for 5 people to stay. On arrival Tuesday afternoon, new years eve, we get to the accomodation and the security asked for an access code. it was after check in time and the host did not yet send an access code to me. I had to send a message to recieve it. After that the security asked me how many rooms and i said 2 but with a sleep couch. we were 5 people and he said we arent allowed onto the property because there is to many of us. after contacting the host they then said we arent allowed a fifth person. This was after many many phone calls and messages, because they were not responding. we waited almost an hour and 30 minutes outside because the security did not want to let us inside. We had dove fom johannesburg that morning and we all just need a shower and we will be out for new years eve. The security did not allow us, they made us have turns to go shower after cheched in and the extra person had to stay in the car. the extra person had to find another place to stay, the host was not even sympathetic that we just drove 6 hours and there was no other available accommodations for our friend because it was new years. However, we left it and my friend found a place to stay. Worse, when we got into the accomodation after 90 minutes of waiting there was no electricity. this took about 90 to get resolved. There was so many people to talk to but none of them communicated so it was liek speaking to 10 people to get a matter resolved. they treated us like children and all of this happening on new years eve. they also only told us upon arrival that we are not allowed any visitors. I had booked this place because i live in dubai but was in durban to celebrate new years and to see my family. But i could not even have my family over to spend time with them. the following day my friend came in the afternoon to shower and get dressed. we then left the accomodation. and returned at 3am. we came back as 3 people but my brother left to go fetch our cousin. when they came back the security followed them bother back to the apartment and when he got there he started interigating us. we said we left as 5 people and now only came back as 4. i did not see the point of this argument because only 4 people can stay but he was going on and on. he was bullying us and accusing us of lying, the service was pathetic and to deal with such people at 3am was absolutley ridicolous and uncalled for. eventually after arguing for 15 minutes he left after i put a stop to the conversation. on top of this one of the security gaurds asked for a bribe to allow a fifth person to stay. the service we recieved at this place was pathetic. we made no noise unlike the other people who stayed there who were so loud, but we were the ones being bul****, and treated like children. Overall, my stay at Coral Point was a regrettable experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. the host was no helptful and had no sypathy for us whatsoever.
