Platform that needs to double check their advertisers

Not the best platform at all when it comes to bookings.I had to be at the US embassy so I booked accommodation near their offices. I paid in full as you are forced to pay upfront for the booking. There was no place to stay, the place did not exist, I had to sit at the airport for almost 12 hours because of bookings.com advertising and demanding upfront payment for a non-existent property. It took me a 35 minute phone call to complain and cancel the booking as it is a non-refundable cancellation. I was then informed that I would be refunded the difference within 12-14 days.
