What is going on with booking.com and Waterford????

• Waterford indicates a place available which is not available. • Booking.com first informs me that my booking is secure. The it informs me of the above and offers other possible place. However I have no idea what the alternatives are. I requested a list of alternatives at the same rate, but no feedback yet. • When I made the booking, it clearly stated no advance payment is required, as well as free cancelation till mid-December 2018. • Now I receive an email offering free cancellation at Waterford or I must pay a prepayment in order to keep the booking?

Who are they trying to fool?
