Pay at the property LIES!

Pay at the property LIES! I made a booking on booking.com for a holiday scheduled 6 months from now. It says i can pay at the property, and that perhaps the property would run a "Test" payment on the card. Little did i know this would be for the amount of R3259.32. This is unacceptable! Firstly! this is 6 months from today, why do you need to hold this much if it clearly states that i can pay at the property??? Secondly, this is an international transaction, who will refund me should the exchange rate fluctuate and it is not in my favour??? Thirdly!!! This is not a "Test" payment!
