No backup from Booking. Com

I made a booking online, got to the deserted guest house and there was no one to help me. I phoned the provided nr with no answer. Waiting for at least 15 min outside in the dark I decided to go and look for another place. After I checked in and payed at the alternative guest house, my call was returned. I was charged for the accommodation that I did not make use of. If it is a non refundable puchase the guesthouse must make sure they honor their side to provide the service when needed. They did not do this. BOOKING. COM did nothing to get money back.
