Never book a flight with them again

First time we have bought an airline ticket in bookings.com. BIG MISTAKE. My son-in-law booked a ticket for me through them, and because I still use my previous surname for business in SA, he assumed my surname was the same in my passport but Home affairs changed my surname to my married name when I renewed my passport. In less than 24 hours my sin-in-law contacted Bookings.com to rectify the mistake. They told him it would be escalated but sent us on a run-around between Virgin Atlantic and themselves. Now a night before my flight it's still not sorted and nobody at Bookings.com will help us. They were not willing to help us and happily will keep our money. I was going to help with my grandchild and now I will not be on that flight. Virgin Atlantic said they could have easily fixed the problem but because we worked through an agent, only they can make the changes. Never again through #Bookings.com and I compared prices too. Was not even cheaper than booking directly. Another problem..... you never get to speak to a human directly..... only electronically and they don't care.
