More like a Backpackers Accommodation

I booked accommodation at Swellengrebel Hotel in Swellendam via Booking.Com. The pics on Booking.Com's websiteis very misleadinga s the hotel is in shockingly poor state. I booked a chalet but was disappointed at the poor and impoverished stae of the chalet. The bedding looked old and poor white. the two single beds were a put off. Sitting on the bed and it's uncomfortable and hard. The lady immediately saw our disappointment and very kindly moved us to a room on the third floor. We were expecting better but toour disappointent the bed was hard felt like a piece of plank was under it, that's how hard it was. The tv only had one channel. the carpets were vacuumed but the dust mites caused my sinuses to get congested. There was no hot water when we showered. The jacussi, sauna area has that dirty unclean look. We slept the night and immediately booked out the morning. Rene , the staff member was extremy helpful but we told her this is more fitting as a backpackers accommodation. i'm not sure how the ratings are done , but this is a backpackers and definitely not in my opinion deserving of any star rating. I lost one night's monies but I shall never stay there again or never refer the place to anyone
