Money deducted after having canceled within the stipulated time

I cancelled a booking under a reservation number and booking.com system decided to leave one room not cancelled and I have now been charged for one night. I am not happy at all. The hotel said they charged for a no show as the booking.com system did not cancel. I have been requesting my money back and I have been pulled from email ai to another asking same stupid questions about giving them details which I have done countless times. I just want my money back.
