I have to pay bank cost for Booking.com mistake.

Here is my story. I used Booking.com for a long time without any serious problems. Recently I booked Lovely Apartment with shared Pool in Konyaalti for 1 month. This place is in Antalya Turkey. Payment was deducted from my bank account to secure my booking and a confirmation number was issued. A few days before we left I noticed that the property cancelled the booking. I contacted the owner of the property and he explained that it was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. I had to look in a hurry for alternative accommodation and had to pay again although I did not receive a refund at that stage. I received eventually a refund for the booking as I did not ask for the cancellation. We all know that the banks do not send money for free to other countries and there was a shortfall of over R2000 when I received the money. I asked Booking.com to pay the shortfall, or bank cost back to me and all I got was a promise of some reward that would be 186 euros as compensation, and that turned out to be a lie. I received only R466 as a reward far from the R2000 odd that I had lost. What was the purpose of an empty promise? Now they do not even answer anymore on my communication and it seems they have blocked me. Needless to say, I will not use them anymore. When looking at all the complaints, It seems that I was lucky to receive a refund. A company with so many people losing money should not be allowed to operate. I can’t make a court case for R2000 but a class action where so many unhappy customers contribute can’t be ignored and can work.
