Guesthouse on bookings.com does not exist.

Hi

I made a booking on bookings.com for two people. Check-in 30 April 2023, check-out 1 May 2023. The name of the guesthouse is Colleens home, situated in Kimberley, South Africa. I paid for the booking and was sent confirmation email with contact details of the guesthouse, the address and the directions to the guesthouse.

I called the cellphone number given( ***) and it went straight to voicemail. I decided to drive to the address give and when I arrived there, the people I found there told me that their house is not a guesthouse and that there aren't any guesthouses in that area.

I called the cellphone number again and it was still on voicemail. It is now 16H00, an hour after check-in time and the cellphone number is still on voicemail.

I lodged a complaint on bookings.com website and haven't recieved a response from them. How do they allow this to happen to their clients?

Looks like I've been ****med.

Please help me get to the bottom of this matter.
