I made a reservation for Camp Bay Villa, a property listed as "Beautiful Villa near Beach," located at 18 The Meadway Street. Booking.com provided a booking reference number via email, but also suggested checking a WhatsApp number found in the listing photos. The villa owner contacted me, recommending I book through TripAdvisor instead, claiming Booking.com's price was too high, and provided a TripAdvisor link. I paid 40,000 at FNB during a family trip to Cape Town from April 17th to 21st. Unfortunately, the villa is currently under renovation, and its condition doesn't match the Booking.com photos. Despite this discrepancy, the property remains advertised on Booking.com. The provided TripAdvisor link appears to be *****ulent, and I have contacted both TripAdvisor (who confirmed they were unaware of the booking and link) and Booking.com (who are unwilling to remove the listing). Please be cautious regarding this property.
