Do not trust Booking.com. we all got baby-sitter's and drove hundreds of kms for nothing

Do not trust Booking.com. You might drive hundreds of km for nothing. We booked a holiday for 8 at CLUSTER 7 ON THE BANKS in Vanderbijlpark, paid and got the confirmation number and pin through email. for the 27 Aug 2021 - 29 Aug 2021. On the we of the holiday we communicate with the host to make the arrangements and all was well, however when we got to the property there was no one there, we tried calling to no avail but when we send emails "the owner" responds. We further inquired from neighbors who eventually contacted the real owner only to learn the property was not available. Just let that sink in, we all got baby-sitter's and drove hundreds of kms for nothing. When we call booking.com they tell that there's nothing they can do, we'll have to wait 5-7 to get our refund. This is totally UN-acceptable I feel like cancelling all the future booking I already have on the platform
