Disgusting service

I am absolutely disgusted by the appalling service and complete lack of empathy from Booking.com during a time of family bereavement. On 25 May 2026, I had to cancel a booking due to a sudden death in my family. Despite submitting the cancellation, I discovered this morning (29 May) that someone on Booking.com’s side had interfered with or reversed the cancellation status without my knowledge. I was forced to do the administrative legwork myself—contacting the property directly to get them to approve the cancellation on their system. When calling Booking.com's customer service to resolve this, multiple agents repeatedly dropped the call in my ear. It was only when I finally reached an agent named Hassan that any actual help was provided, and I was told the refund would be expedited. I received an email confirming the property finally approved it today, 29 May, but I am now told the refund will take 7 to 12 days. I urgently need these funds tomorrow to cover expenses related to this family loss. Booking.com claims they sent emails to the property earlier, while the property claims otherwise. I should not be caught in the middle of your internal communication failures while grieving. Your agents' behavior in dropping calls on a distressed customer is unacceptable. I need a senior manager to review this case immediately and find a way to clear these funds faster. Above it all a manager supposed to call me in 60 minutes 5 hours ago
