Disappointing Experience at "1 on Albert Building" - Booking.com Review
I recently booked accommodation through Booking.com for the AFRICOM event, with a reservation at "1 on Alber Building" from 14-17 November. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to share my concerns.
Upon my arrival at the property around 23h00 on November 14th, I was shocked to find people sitting and lingering in the corridors. The pervasive smell of **** throughout the property, including my booked room, was not only discomforting but also a clear violation of the expected standards for accommodation.
Moreover, one of the essential amenities, backup power, was non-existent. This lack of a contingency plan became evident, and the absence of power was a significant inconvenience. Given these unacceptable conditions, I made the immediate decision to leave the property without even staying for a minute.
Subsequently, I reached out to both the property and Booking.com to request a refund, considering the inhospitable conditions that rendered my stay impossible. Unfortunately, my refund requests have been met with silence from both parties, leaving me dissatisfied with the lack of responsiveness and resolution.
It is disheartening to note that Booking.com, as a platform, seems to lack adequate customer support and control over the properties listed on their platform. The experience at "1 on Alber Building" reflects poorly on the reliability of the accommodations presented through Booking.com.
I hope that my concerns are addressed promptly and that steps are taken to improve the oversight and accountability of properties featured on Booking.com. As a customer, I expected a seamless booking experience and a level of quality assurance, both of which were sorely lacking in this instance.
