Cancellation Fees Charged at @ Accommodation Rate for a booking in September 2018

I accommodation via booked via Booking.com for Sun City Cabana's for 3 days in September 2018. Sun City Cabanas deducted, instead of a % holding fee, the full amount for 3 days within 498hrs of making the booking. I queried this practice, as I was aware that a no refund app**** but was not aware that the full accommodation cost would be forfeited - especially for accommodation that were booked a year in advance.

As the deduction was effected by Cabana's Booking.com referred me to Cabanas who insist that they are entitled to the full accommodation cost in advance and as a non refundable amount.

Considering the period, I fail to see the logic in this practice and feel that I am being exploited.
