Bookings.com is heartless

I booked accommodation with the company on September 2022 with a view to check in on the 8th of October 2022, however a death accured in my family 2 days before check in. I tried to contact the company to rearrange the date they refused. I told that since I have already paid & secured the booking I am making a request to check in 2 days later with the view that I will forfiet the 2 days they refused. I sent numerous emails non were answered, i also made many calls but the staff was unhelpful
