BOOKINGS.COM - BEWARE FLIGHT BOOKINGS

The issue concerns a last-minute cancelation of a flight and the refusal to make a refund and/or pay compensation. This seemingly insoluble problem with Bookings.com and the airline, Sky Express Airline (Hahn Air Systems), should serve as a caution to anyone booking air flights online with Bookings.com.

In February 2023 I reserved and paid online with Bookings.com for a flight from Kos Island , Greece, to London Heathrow - some 4 months before the flight. The airline listed on the booking confirmation was Hahn Air Systems/Sky Express. The price was attractive and the best available at the time (Booking ***: Flight 27 May 2023: KGS-ATH-LHR).

These flights were cancelled by an e-mail from Bookings.com on 24 May, 3 days before the flights were due to take place. No alternative options were offered. This necessitated a last-minute flight booking with an alternative airline, at considerably greater cost and inconvenience.

Both Bookings.com and Sky Express Airline (Hahn Air Systems) refuse to discuss the matter of a refund and compensation with me, in spite of a considerable amount of e-mail correspondence over the past 8 weeks. Both organizations continue to insist that I contact the other one to progress the matter.
