Booking.com.com Non Refund Policy

I booked accommodation in Qatar, Doha and paid the full amount. With the current situation in the Middle East we are unable to travel yet we are told that the booking is non-refundable by the establishment because of booking.com policy.

We have the same issue with the flights in Vietnam. We are sent from pillar to post. Booking.com is telling us to contact the airline directly, the airline om the other hand is telling us they cannot deal directly with us since we booked via booking.com. We are being ****** in broad daylight.
