Booking.com & Precious Paradise Beach Combo – *****ulent Cancellation, No Refund, Rude Staff

I am absolutely disgusted with both Booking.com and Precious Paradise Beach Combo in Amanzimtoti, Durban.

I made a confirmed booking through Booking.com, traveled all the way there, only to be turned away at the front door and told the hotel is under renovation. No prior notice. No call. No email. Nothing. They knew about the renovation and still accepted my booking — that is *****ulent and completely unacceptable.

What made it worse was the front desk lady, who was shockingly rude and dismissive. No apology, no empathy, no effort to help find a solution. She treated me like an inconvenience rather than a paying guest who had just been stranded.

To this day I have not received a refund. I am out of pocket for a booking I never got to use, with no resolution in sight.

Booking.com needs to take responsibility for the properties listed on their platform. If a hotel is under renovation, it should NOT be accepting bookings. This left me stranded with nowhere to stay and money gone.

I urge everyone to avoid this property and to think twice before trusting Booking.com with your travel plans.
