Booking.com pathetic service

I made a booking for an overnight stay Velddrif on 22 September 2023. I paid in full, received an invoice, confirmation number etc but.... when we arrived in Velddrif and tried to find the key for our apartment, no one answered the phone. When I eventually found someone I was told that it's no longer a guest house and hasn't been for a while now.... Which meant we had to scramble in the dark, at night, to find new accommodation in a town we don't know at all.

This is pathetic service from Booking.com and I will definitely not be using there site ever again and I won't be recommending it to others either.

They even went so far as to ask for a review of our stay. Seriously!
