Booking.com ****med us and are not refunding us our thousands of rands as promised

We booked at a place called Ballito Pro in Ballito Kzn but when we arrived after driving 7 hours from Pretoria to kzn (with 2 little kids in the car) we could not reach the landlord to check in. It turned out our reservation was a ****. Booking.com promised us a full refund within 12-14 business days as well as any extra expenses we may incur in securing a different place to stay. We have yet to receive our refund and messages and emails keep bouncing around between different customers service people and in the meantime we are paying our bums off on credit card payments. We are sorely disappointed. The *****ulent property is still on their site and now they are saying they are trying to recover the money from the ****ster! What?! On further research it appears that bdc has had numerous ****s in the last year all over the world. People are being ****** and nothing is being done about it. I asked them if we should go to the police or will they make a case and was told to just leave a review. So here it is.
