BOOKING.COM IS A ****!

I booked for myself , my family and my friends. R4200 was paid for the weekend. We arrive at the venue only to be told this place is a ****! So remember we shopped , we are dressed and ready for the weekend. We saved for the weekend which means we had no extra money. I couldn't leave everyone out in the dark so I borrowed money for another place which we paid R3800 for just the one night. How unfair is that. I am then told I will be refunded half my money but I received an email that my cancellation was free with no charge! They then also tell me in the email should I book another accomodation , I should forward the invoice , they will refund me R1225 of the new place. I send through all the documents as requested but guess what , it gets REJECTED every single time due to not enough info. What bull**** is this?! PLEASE DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM
