Booking.com give out confirmed bookings but then cancel for no reason. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM

I made a booking through bookings.com at Meer Huisje in Knysna that had been confirmed for 10-12 April 2023 For amount of R 3 404

Confirmation number: *** Pin: 3238

The booking then was cancelled BY MEER HUISJIE because they said they were full and Bookings.com made a mistake not to remove the add from their website.

Bookings. com couldn't find me a suitable place and the assured me I can make another booking they will refund the difference even if the booking is a bit more.

The cheapest place with the same quality I could get was through lekker slaap at R4000.

I called Bolking.com and the confirmed after my stay they will refund the full difference.

We went on holiday and I sent them the invoice

Booking.com should have paid R596 but they only refunded me R300 beacause the Meer huisjie put up their prices to R3700.

I took a screenshot of the original booking and the amount of R3404 and sent it through to them. But Booking.com agents keep on telling me they would get back to me regarding this matter and they do not.

I will never book through booking.com again. This website cannot be trusted.

In South Africa, the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) provides protection to consumers against unfair business practices. Section 17 of the CPA states that a supplier must not refuse to accept a booking that has been made and confirmed, and must fulfill that booking as agreed upon. Therefore, if the place confirmed my booking but then canceled it without a valid reason, they are in breach of the CPA.

I will not stop until I am refunded R596, I will even go to small claims court of South Africa to resolve this matter
