Booking.com: False advertising, unprofessional and poor customer service

For 2 weeks, I've been stressfully browsing on booking.com's site to find a self-catering unit. At last, on 19/11/22 I found a suitable place and made the immediate payment. I got my confirmation letter and the host's details, everything.

Therefater, everything was all set. What happened next was so despicable and showed the level of incompetence of this site. On 20/11/22 I received an email from them apologizing to me that the very booking they confirmed has been canceled due to it being unavailable. Wow, if this isn't unprofessional service then I don't know what is. Furthermore, this is what their email entailed: -Firstly, due to them canceling my booking they suggested a Backpackers accommodation, Now, how do you clearly SEE that the customer booked a SELF-CATERING accommodation yet you suggest a totally DIFFERENT thing, is this a joke? Acting like they doing me a favor, when that just brought about me being further appalled by this service. -Secondly, in the email it said payment will take 7-12 days. Wow again, I must make IMMEDIATE payments but they can't pay my refund back IMMEDIATELY, who even does that to their customers? -Thirdly, after my booking was canceled that accommodation was still showing available for my dates on the site, I sent them my personal point of view of their service and told them about the accommodation STILL showing that it is available after canceling it for my dates. Only after I notified them about it, did they then correct it on the site. So I had to do their job for them in that regard.

No compensation nor customer courtesy was given to me for this HUGE inconvenience(note that I've been a member for so very long and made so many bookings via them for years and mind you, being on a GENIUS LEVEL) as one knows how difficult it can get to find places. I am highly taken aback by the incompetence, unprofessionalism and poor customer care being shown. Shame on you Booking.com, this was pathetic service on so many levels.
