Booking.Com and Oria Lodge, Cape town
I booked and paid for accommodation at Oria Lodge in Cape Town for one night the 2nd February 2022. We were travelling for my ex-husbands funeral so it was a very emotional time. We arrived at Oria Lodge at 14:00hrs. My son went to the receptions and was told by the owner/receptionist that there was no booking for us "no bookings for that day"! My son decided we needed to sort out accommodation for the night so he went ahead and book elsewhere. I tried for about an hour to get hold of someone to speak to at Booking.Com and eventually got through to a lady called Simona H in Germany. Told her my problem and she offered to call me back once she had spoken to Oria Lodge. By this time we had booked into the new accommodation. I received a call back from Simona telling me that she had spoken to Michael at Oria Lodge and that he was waiting for us. Simona asked me to phone Michael. I did this and his firwt words were "I have a home for you!" I explained that after telling us that he had no bookings for that day we had gone ahead and booked elsewhere. I have written twice to Customer Service at Booking.Com requesting my booking money back but have not had a reply from their customer service department. I was asked to rate Oria Lodge by Booking.com and even though I gave the Lodge really bad review I have still had no contact from anyone at ***.
