booking.com and Khangela Place

I was looking for accommodation in the Durban area for the New Years period. My wife found a place on booking.com in Pinetown. Not quite being where we wanted to be which was closer to the beach front, and without obvious luxuries like aircons, we accepted that we will have to travel a bit and as we didn't intend tone at accommodation too much, except for sleeping and bathing purposes, we accepted and was quoted R2002 which payment was requested immediately and which I paid. We received our confirmation email odour booking and payment. A few minutes later I received a mail from the institution via booking.com to ask if they had informed me that the price I paid was per person which was never mentioned in any of our correspondence. After having spoken to booking.com in this regard I then received a mail to say that they had made a mistake and that the accommodation was going to be at a negotiated rate of R10000. I had the option to accept or cancel at no charge. I obviously cancelled but am rightfully very aggrieved by this.
