Booking payed and confirmed but property owner is requesting EFT payment

I have made a booking for my family for Christmas and I paid for it. Now I'm getting messages from the property owner asking me to do an EFT payment to secure the booking. What happened to the money I paid via booking.com? The property owner says they are having trouble with booking.com, is this true? Is this a **** or what? I am panicking coz my family and I have already packed and ready to travel... please clarify what is going on.
