Booking. Com took all our money

We booked accommodation in pietermaritzburg for the midmar mile 2021 and paid for it in December 2020 already.

First the midmar mile race date was moved to a further date and we moved the accommodation date as such. Then midmar mile was canceled literally a week before the race so we had to cancel the accommodation and gave the reason as covid regulations.

I emailed the property a d they said they have no issue returning the whole amount of money I must just cancel it through booking. Com

So I did and booking. Com took the WHOLE AMOUNT as a cancelation fee. That is utterly redicilous and in our eyes broad ****************. I understand if we lose a certain percentage of the money due to cancelation but THE WHOLE AMOUNT!!!???

We will NEVER use them again and book personally where we can and tell everyone to not use them. Their policy's suck
